Huawei Alternate OS Already Prepped In Case Of US Ban

  • Huawei Android alternative

According to the South China Morning Post, the China-based company has been working on an Android alternative since 2012 - right about the time when the US started investigating ZTE and Huawei. If and when the company is no longer able to use US-made systems.

Huawei's mobile chief Richard Yu Chengdong told German media outlet Die Welt it has been working on its own operating system that can run on both mobile devices and personal computers. Huawei is very popular outside of the USA, but the company has virtually no marketshare inside the US due to the government urging carriers not to offer its devices over fears of spying. While Korean tech giant Samsung also has its Tizen operating system, Tizen is instead used primarily on smartwatches and cameras.

However, if Huawei did use its own operating system, such a move will only mark the start of the company's problems.

UEFA investigate Neymar for VAR comments
Following the comments, UEFA have now announced that they have opened proceedings on the Brazilian global , with an outcome expected to be reached soon.

According to reports all the way from 2012, Huawei began working on backup systems when the United States opened an investigation into both Huawei and ZTE.

Huawei's statement comes days after the company made a decision to sue the US Government over a ban imposed on its products. "Meng Wanzhou is an individual case and I don't think it should influence in any way the relationship Canada has with Huawei". Alternatively, it could develop its own processors for laptops just like it's developing a backup OS. That Huawei may face a similar ban is not out of the realm of possibility. We heard more about this OS in 2016. After all, they do make their own smartphone processors. In January 2019, the U.S. DOJ filed criminal charges against Huawei for alleged trade secret theft, bank fraud, and obstruction of justice. However, he mentioned that Huawei likes to work with its partners like Google and Microsoft, which provide the Android and Windows operating systems for Huawei's smartphone and laptop portfolio.
