  • Bangladesh all out for 211 in first innings

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was taken to hospital on Monday, midway through the second Test against Bangladesh, for scans on his injured left shoulder.A team spokesman described it was a "precautionary" measure.

Williamson, who batted with a painful shoulder injury, made it through to 74 before he was dismissed and taken for a scan which proved inconclusive.

When Bangladesh resumed day five at 80-3, Trent Boult made the initial breakthrough by dismissing Soumya Sarkar for 28.

"The physio and staff were saying we'd make this a case study because it is so rare".

"We're hopeful in a short period of time he'll be back to full noise".

Starting off the day on 38/2, Taylor and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson converted their 30-run partnership into a 172-run stand, during which both batsmen surged past their fifties, before Williamson was caught and bowled by Taijul Islam for 74, which came off 105 balls and included 11 boundaries and a six.

Media Avoids Obvious Reason Pelosi Has Cooled on Impeachment
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has recently repeated her longstanding views regarding President Donald Trump and impeachments. Reacting to her comments , Steyer suggested Pelosi's stance was "politically convenient".

New Zealand has defended the approach as legitimate, within the rules, and a skill in its own way.

It seems an unnecessary risk not ruling Williamson out immediately, given his importance to the side.

Williamson is due to fly to India after the Bangladesh series to join up with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the money-spinning Twenty20 IPL. They won't be seen again until May, when the Black Caps assemble for the World Cup.

"Hopeful" might be the operative word, and while Williamson is set to travel with the team to Christchurch for the third and final test, Stead indicated that he will only play if he's completely fit.

"We're hopeful that he will recover quickly, and the thing for us is to make sure he doesn't aggravate it any more".

"I think we all saw how green it was and we wanted to be positive because we knew there was probably going to be a ball with your name on it", Taylor said. He's had niggles and seems to find a way through. The extent of this and the unknown of this were the things we were unsure about, but hopefully, he'll get through that fine.

Wicketkeeper BJ Watling's situation is more positive and he looks a more likely starter in the third test.
