The subscription price of its video streaming service is the biggest mystery, but some reports do claim it'll be cheaper than Netflix, and it's expected to before Disney+ in late 2019.

The short clip ends with the famous Apple logo and the words "It's show time".

Apple has long hinted at a planned video service, spending US$2 billion in Hollywood to produce its own content and signing major stars such as Oprah Winfrey. It also has deals in place with directors M Night Shyamalan, JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg. The company has partnered with several publications like The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, etc.

Apple has been dealing with the reality of slowing iPhone sales for months, which means a focus on new services could be vital to growing its business. The company was rumoured to be holding an event on March 25 before, and it's now sending out official invites to the press this evening.

The forthcoming event will also be the first time Apple has used the venue for something other than an iPhone announcement. However, Apple usually focuses on smaller transactions; the largest deal in the history of the company was its $3 billion purchase of Beats Audio almost five years ago.
