The lengthy, 200-page charging document lists actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin among the most notable names facing charges.

Huffman, by contrast, is accused of donating $15,000 to a firm that promised to help her older daughter (of two) cheat on college entrance exams.

Actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman were involved in the scheme, with Loughlin attempting to pay $500,000 to get her daughters into USC by pretending they were recruits for the crew team and Huffman paid $15,000 to help her daughter cheat on the Saturday. Loughlin's two daughters were allegedly designated as recruits for USC's crew team - even though neither girl had ever participated in crew.

Prosecutors revealed Tuesday that fake athletic profiles were created for the students benefiting from the bribery scheme to enhance their chances of college admission.

"In return for bribes, these coaches agreed to pretend that certain applicants were recruited competitive athletes when in fact they were not, as the coaches knew the students athletic credentials were fabricated", he explained.

The bribes ranged from "a few thousand to up to $6 million", per ABC 11.

Those arrested include two SAT/ACT administrators, one exam proctor, nine coaches at elite schools, one college administrator and 33 parents according to Andrew Lelling, the US Attorney for MA.

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are two of the 33 parents and almost 50 people charged in the largest college admissions scandal ever prosecuted by the Justice Department. Federal authorities said Tuesday that the coaches charged "accepted bribes in exchange for admitting students as athletes, regardless of their ability, "according to the Associated Press".

Loughlin appeared in the sitcom Full House, and Huffman starred in Desperate Housewives.

ABC7 reports the alleged scam centered on a California man who ran a business helping students get into the college of their dreams.

Court documents claim former Georgetown tennis head coach Gordon Ernst lived in Falmouth, Mass., and Maryland during the time period the indictment covers.

According to recently unsealed court documents, dozens of well-off people were arrested in connection with a college admission scam, and among those charged were Hollywood celebrities Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin. The evidence in the case reportedly includes cooperating witnesses, emails, and telephone call recordings.
