Leeds United's Jack Clarke on mend after illness scare

  • Leeds' Jack Clarke taken to hospital after collapsing during Boro clash

Youngster Jack Clarke was taken ill during the game and had to be taken to hospital where he was kept overnight but has since been released and will not take part in training this week.

Urquhart said Leeds man Brown was not moving freely after taking the knock and was still holding his back after coming off during the break.

Once there his condition improved and he was fully conscious, responsive and breathing normally when he was taken to hospital for further assessment, accompanied by members of the Leeds medical team.

According to Urquhart, the plan was for the attacker to play 45 minutes in the U23 game against the Owls and said the knock was "hopefully" nothing to worry about.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis passed on his best wishes to Clarke when he addressed the media.

Such days were known as "Crosby weather" when Bing Crosby was the tournament host for the better part of a half-century. In 2018, Ted Potter, Jr. prevailed over Phil Mickelson, Jason Day and two-time Pebble Beach victor Dustin Johnson.

Today, Liverpool join the race for Jack Clarke.... After feeling bad he recovered and when he was taken to the dressing room he was better, as if he had overcome the problem.

Clarke made his Leeds debut against Brentford in October and has gone on to make 17 appearances this season.

Leeds went on to score a last-gasp equaliser in the 12 minutes of stoppage time, and manager Marcelo Bielsa revealed after the game that the promising teenager had shown signs of improvement before being taken to hospital.

The result sees them back on top of the Championship with a one point lead over Norwich, who face Ipswich on Sunday. Sheffield United are within touching distance of that final automatic promotion place, however, and are only three points behind Leeds.
