Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched its keenly awaited G-series range for 2019. In addition, the fingerprint scanner is in the same place on the back and they both have a "chin" that is equal in size.

What do you think of the new moto g7 line of phones?

The Moto G7 might be a "mid-range" phone running on mid-range hardware, but it comes with the same version of Android as every other high-end Android device - Android 9. Except the Moto G7 Power which has a 5,000 mAh battery, all other Moto G7 phones pack a 3,000 mAh battery.

The Moto G7 Play is the most affordable of the new G Series family and is a tad lighter and more compact than its predecessor. The processor, amount of memory, battery and display, each of these components are different from one model to another. The camera is the same as on the G7 Play. This one also uses the same Snapdragon 632 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space supporting up to 128GB of additional storage.

On the front, you'll notice the notch is narrower than the G7 Play, but it's still pretty prominent. The Play edition comes with 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, a 3,000 mAh battery and a 13 MP rear camera with PDAF and zero shutter lag.

The device sports a 5.7-inch display with an HD resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels.

8x digital zoom, Burst shot, Auto HDR, Timer, High res Zoom, Auto smile capture, Cinemagraph, All in focus, portrait mode, cutout, panorama, manual mode, raw photo output, active photos, spot color, best shot, 4k video, slow motion video, time lapse video, hyperlapse video, electronic video stabilization, YouTube live, Google Lens integration.

Motorola unveils three new Moto G7 phones, including one with 3-day battery life

Motorola announced its new $300 Moto G7 smartphone on Thursday, and it's an exciting time for smartphone users who aren't so keen on spending big.

At the camera front, the device packs a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor.

The Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Play is available in Brazil and we have no further information about its global availability.

It doesn't deliver the premium finishes you'll find on the G7 and G7 Plus, nor the battery capacity of the G7 Power, but it offers the same chipset as the G7, it runs on Android Pie and it has a large screen in a slim form factor. The Moto G7 Plus offers 27-watt TurboPower charging, and the charger is included in the box. The front facing camera is 8 megapixels with 1.12μm pixels and it also has a selfie flash in that notch there. Weighing 172 grams, the G7 replaces the G6's Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chip for an octa-core Snapdragon 632.

The standard Moto G7 features a 6.24-inch Full HD+ display with a waterdrop-style notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There is a 6.2-inch display, but the resolution has been downgraded to HD+. The Moto G7 Series now comes with fast charging support via USB Type C. The Moto G7 Play is the cheapest of the G7 Series and comes with a 5.7-inch display and has a 19:9 aspect ratio which has now become the trend.

The G7 also supports Motorola's 15W TurboPower charging spec, which promises nine hours of battery life from a 15-minute charge. Motorola is only promising one major OS update for these devices, and if last year's Moto G6 update speed is any indication, that update will come very slowly.

The G7 Play was released today in Brazil and Mexico and it will launch at some point in the next month in the United States for just $199.
