  • Elizabeth Warren officially launches 2020 presidential campaign - live updates

Elizabeth Warren announced on Saturday that she is launching an official bid for the presidency in 2020.

Walking onto a stage in Lawrence to the tunes of Dolly Parton's "Nine to Five", the MA senator made her announcement Saturday morning. Sherrod Brown, planned to be in New Hampshire on Saturday.

"This is the fight of our lives", she said.

Before being Senator, she specialised in bankruptcy law and was a prominent scholar.

Despite such criticism, several MA lawmakers joined Warren for her Lawrence 2020 campaign launch, including U.S. Reps. That claim has created fodder for Republicans and could overshadow her campaign.

"Hardworking people are up against a small group of people that holds far too much power, not just in our economy but also in our democracy", Warren said at the rally in Lawrence.

Zhou-Castro went on to say that Warren's major opponent at this point is former Vice President Joe Biden, who despite not yet declaring his candidacy, is leading the field in polling among would-be primary Democratic voters.

"Elizabeth Warren has already been exposed as a fraud by the Native Americans she impersonated and disrespected to advance her professional career, and the people of MA she deceived to get elected", campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement.

The 'twist' in Ariana Grande's new music video is really dividing people
The Grammys will be held on Sunday, February 10 in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Alicia Keys. Thursday was a rollercoaster for Ariana Grande fans.

According to a report by CBS News, Warren's speech made few direct references to President Donald Trump.

Carmen Reyes is among the many residents who say Warren's announcement is a positive development as the city recovers from September's natural gas explosions and fires.

The disclosure prompted yet another public apology from the senator, just days after she had expressed remorse to Cherokee leaders for using a DNA test past year to try to show her Native American ancestry. "No matter what they do, they grow richer and more powerful", Warren said.

Warren faced renewed criticism this week over her controversial Native American heritage claims after the Washington Post reported that she listed her race as "American Indian" on a Texas State Bar registration card in 1986.

Warren, who touted the labor law changes that came in wake of the historic 1912 strike, told supporters who gathered in freezing temperatures outside the mill that "the story of Lawrence is a story about how real change happens in America".

A leader within the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, Warren often projects a populist message aimed at combating income inequality and the rising costs of higher education and health care. She announced last month her plan to impose a "wealth tax" on Americans with more than $50 million in assets. "But I am sorry for furthering confusion on tribal sovereignty and tribal citizenship and harm that resulted".

Warren will be the third senator to officially launch her campaign, after Senators Kamala Harris and Cory Booker. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is visiting SC. Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar, expected to jump in soon.

In a video announcing the exploratory committee released on social media on December 31, Warren said she's running in order to take a stand for middle-class Americans. "We believe she'll be the most electable Democrat, and the best president, for America", Stephanie Taylor, co-founder of PCCC, said in a statement. "A path made even harder by the impact of generations of discrimination".
