ICYMI, the British rapper, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was arrested in the United States by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Sunday for allegedly overstaying his visa, CNN reports.

21 Savage, born Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was brought into custody in Atlanta for being in America illegally.

21 Savage attends the CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund 15th Anniversary Event at Brooklyn Navy Yard on November 5, 2018, in Brooklyn, New York. A birth certificate obtained by Mail Online suggests he was born in Newham, east London.

In a letter to ICE, Rep. Hank Johnson, a Democrat who represents Georgia's 4th District, described the rapper as a "remarkable young man". Claiming that his family came to the United States earlier than immigration allege. Savage's new statement says both of these claims are false. However, Savage has shared that his family immigrated to the U.S. when he was 7-years-old under an H-4 visa.

"As a minor, his family overstayed their work visas, and he, like nearly two million other children, was left without legal status through no fault of his own", Kuck said of 21's status, adding that his mother moved him to Atlanta at age 12. "These "Dreamers" come from all walks of life and every ethnicity", the statement goes on to say.

The legal team insisted their client should be granted bond "by statute" as there is no reason to detain him, hinting he had been targeted because of his politically-charged lyrics.

Another source told Harper's Bazaar they'd seen J-Law wearing "a giant rock" on her wedding ring finger. Maroney is an art gallery director at the Gladestone Gallery in New York, USA Today reported.

The visa application was filed in 2017, four years after he was reportedly shot six times during an incident in which his friend died.

"In addition to being in violation of federal immigration law, Mr. Abraham-Joseph was convicted on felony drug charges in October 2014 in Fulton County, Georgia", U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Bryan Cox told USA Today. He has never hidden from DHS or any of its agencies.

A federal judge will have to decide whether Abraham-Joseph is allowed to stay in the U.S. If he is deported, he could face a decade-long ban on re-entering the country.

Kuck is arguing that Savage should not be held in detention because he is not a flight risk or a danger to his community.

The rapper's lawyer, Dina LaPolt, has issued a statement regarding his arrest: "We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with the authorities to clear up any misunderstandings".
