  • Samsung Teases Foldable Galaxy Smartphone: Galaxy F?

Huawei's CEO has confirmed that we'll see a foldable 5G phone from the company at Mobile World Congress in February.

The Chinese smartphone brand, which overtook Apple in August past year to become the world's second largest phone maker behind Samsung, tweeted an image of a folding handset to announce its keynote presentation during the annual smartphone symposium on 24 February. As to other specifications of the device, there is no word from the company.

Samsung is expected to formally introduce the Galaxy F smartphone during the February 20th Galaxy S10 press conference, various reports have claimed. Now, the 3D renders and images of this foldable smartphone have appeared online.

Huawei released an official invite on Friday for the company's MWC event through Twitter.

Smartphone maker Huawei is working on its foldable smartphone since 2017.

The handset is expected to feature the company's new 5000 5G modem as well as a Kirin 980 chipset powering the device. Recently, Huawei 5G Foldable Phone's 3D Renders surfaced online. The smartphone has dual displays - the smaller one is on the outer cover, whereas the larger, foldable display is on the inside. The theme for this year's MWC is "Intelligent Connectivity" which will involve information and announcements around 5G, AI, and Internet of Things (IoT). While the South Korean conglomerate has already showcased the alluring Infinity Flex display that it plans to use in its foldable smartphone, the world has yet to see what the actual device looks like. Looking at the renders, we can not tell if the device will fold outwards or inwards only.

Beyond confirming its existence, Huawei hasn't revealed much else about its debut, ugh, "foldable". In addition to the foldable phone, we will also possibly feast our eyes on the Huawei P30.
