Donald Trump could give written answers to Russian Federation investigation questions this week

  • Rightwing author Jerome Corsi: I expect Mueller to indict me

"I fully anticipate in next few days I will be indicted by Mueller for giving false information to special counsel or grand jury", he said.

The questions, as ABC News has previously reported, center on alleged Russian meddling during the 2016 election cycle, which Mueller is tasked with investigating.

Jerome Corsi says negotiations fell apart with special counsel Robert Mueller's team. American intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian agents were the source of hacked material released by WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign, including emails belonging to former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.

Corsi, a former Washington bureau chief for the far-right website Infowars.com, claimed he was the victim of a "perjury trap" and may have inadvertently made a false statement during an estimated 40 hours of questioning by prosecutors over six sessions.

Corsi, a close associate of Republican strategist and Trump ally Roger Stone, told The Guardian that Mueller's team also asked for information about the American academic Ted Malloch, who is based in the United Kingdom and is friends with Farage.

"I don't know what they're going to charge me with", Corsi told ABC in an interview Monday.

U.S. calls on China to remove missiles from Spratly Islands
China's escalating trade war and geopolitical rivalry with the U.S. has given it added impetus to conclude the RCEP talks, which began in 2013.

Corsi, who was a leading proponent of the false conspiracy theory that Barack Obama was not born in the USA, disclosed in September that he had been subpoenaed to appear in front of the grand jury in Washington considering Mueller's findings. He said he gave investigators two computers, a cellphone and access to his e-mail accounts and tweets. He denied any wrongdoing and claimed without evidence that he was being persecuted because he "dared to support Donald Trump" and "opposed the deep state".

Rudy Giuliani, a lawyer for Trump, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump answering Mueller's questions as soon as this week.

Earlier this month, Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman reported that a White House official who testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee said "I'm very anxious about Don Jr" perjuring himself over whether he told his father, then-candidate Donald Trump, about the infamous Trump Tower meeting to get "dirt" from Russian Federation on Hillary Clinton, before the meeting took place.

But Corsi said he had just "figured out" the link to Wikileaks, and had never met Assange or had any inside information.

But he said talks with investigators recently had "blown up".

"I stand by my statement to the House Intelligence Committee and can prove it is truthful if need be", said Stone.
