Perry surprised the crowd when he joined Joel for a cover of "Walk This Way" during the Saturday evening show and later needed medical assistance in his dressing room.

The 68-year-old was performing "Walk This Way" with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in NY when he reportedly collapsed.

In 2016, Perry abruptly staggered offstage during a performance with Alice Cooper-led supergroup the Hollywood Vampires, where he promptly received emergency medical attention.

Perry's publicists said in a statement Sunday that the musician was alert and responsive in hospital and was expected to return to the road later this month.

EMTs on site revived Perry and immediately transported him to the hospital in that incident.

Aerosmith are due to begin a Las Vegas residency in Arpil 2019.

The guitarist left the venue on a stretcher, according to multiple reports, after collapsing in his dressing room backstage. Footage from the event showed Perry stumbling offstage from the Ford Amphitheatre before losing consciousness backstage.
