This Trump painting on display in the White House is just weird

An editor looks at the Twitter feed of Josh Billinson showing a painting by Andy Thomas (R) entilted "The Republican Club", alongside a screenshot of the painting hanging at the White House during a "60 Minutes" interview with US President Donald Trump.
A post on Thomas' website said the painting had a "subtle feminist message" and that he found it hard to give Trump a "genuine smile".
Thomas has another version of this painting, titled "The Democratic Club", featuring Democratic presidents like Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy, and Bill Clinton.
The painting, spotted behind Trump and correspondent Leslie Stahl, shows the commander in chief surrounded by previous Republican presidents, including Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, George W. Bush and even Abraham Lincoln.
The fact that Trump would then hang that in the White House was entirely in character, Thomas said, both from the point of view of the president's ego and his willingness to honor a piece of kitsch created by an ordinary voter.
This painting was first spotted during an interview with the USA president on 60 Minutes which aired on Sunday.
In a wild game, Bears lose to the Dolphins in overtime
It appeared the Dolphins were going to pull out the victory when they marched downfield on their opening drive of overtime. Chicago's defense stopped Gore on first- and second-and-goal rushes, setting up third-and-goal from the one-yard line.
Although art aficionados might wince when gazing at the White House's newest wall decor, there's more going on in this painting than meets the eye at first glance.
For example, while the other presidents have alcoholic drinks in front of them, a Diet Coke appears to be Trump's drink of choice. "As I was doing the painting, I was thinking that these guys are kind of intimidating in a way".
"He had actually given a me real gracious call to tell me how much he liked it", Thomas said. "He was very complimentary".
"That would be, in this case, the first female Republican president walking over to take her place at the table", Thomas said. "He made a comment that he'd seen a lot of paintings of himself and he rarely liked them".
