  • Trump tells '60 Minutes' that climate change will 'change back again'

US President Donald Trump called climate change a hoax in November 2012 and in years since.

The U.N. report is not a matter of opinion ― it's a thoroughly vetted, nonpartisan study issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and authored by 91 researchers and editors from 40 countries that cited more than 6,000 scientific references.

Last week's report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - the leading global body evaluating climate change - warned the world was heading towards a temperature rise of 3 degrees Celsius.

The report says the world needs to aim to hold the warming to no more than 1.5 degrees C but that marker will be upon us by 2040 if drastic, global action isn't taken.

"She really believes in global warming and that's fine, and man's role in climate change and that's okay", Kilmeade said.

What did Mr Trump say about climate change? "You'd have to show me the scientists because they have a very big political agenda", he said. "I don't think it's a hoax, I think there's probably a difference", Trump told Lesley Stahl. "You know, which group drew it, because I can give you reports that are fabulous and I can give you reports that aren't so good".

"So I always used to say the toughest people are Manhattan real estate guys and blah, blah", he said. I do not want to lose millions and millions of jobs'. "I think where there's debate is what that influence is and what can we do about it".

Trump Tells '60 Minutes' That Mattis 'May Leave' The Pentagon
Trump had been deferential toward Mattis , saying on September 5 his defence chief would remain in his job. He also dubbed the nearly daily media reports detailing "chaos" within the White House as " fake news ".

'I'm not denying climate change.

What has Mr Trump previously said?

"The way we implement change in America is through elections".

Britain has a target to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent compared with 1990 levels by 2050, but campaigners have warned this does not go far enough to meet pledges made under the Paris climate agreement.

May said the United Nations report is telling humanity: "You've got one chance to protect your kids' world, you've got one chance, and it's expiring in about 10-12 years, to hold global average temperature to no more than 1.5 degrees and if you miss that ... you end up in a situation where the worst case scenario isn't bad weather, it's the collapse of our civilization and the extinction of millions of species, potentially including us".

It sparked speculation that the former reality television star still believed climate change was invented.

Citing concerns about the pact's economic impact, Trump said in 2017 that the USA will leave the Paris climate accord.
