Strong aftershock rattles north Haiti day after deadly quake

The U.S. Geologic Survey said the quake hit at 8:11 p.m. (0011 GMT) and was centered 12 miles (19 kilometers) northwest of Port-de-Paix on Haiti's north coast.
In a post on Twitter, President Jovenel Moise urged people to remain calm after the civil protection agency reported the latest quake had caused outbreaks of panic in northern towns. It was 7.3 miles (11.7 kilometers) below the surface.
Four people were killed in and around the town of Gros-Morne farther south, local authorities said, including a woman who died from a heart attack suffered after the quake.
General Coordinator of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Evelio Betancourt, said that two surgical teams were sent to support Haitian health personnel.
In 2010, an natural disaster with a magnitude of 7.0 killed an estimated 160,000 people and left more than a million others homeless in the French-speaking country.
