Jimmy Butler requests trade from Timberwolves

  • Jimmy Butler requests trade with three teams in mind

Butler has reportedly given the Timberwolves a list of one to three teams where he would be open to signing a contract extension.

Butler is one of the premier players in the National Basketball Association.

It seemed like an ominous sign for the Timberwolves that the meeting, which was originally scheduled for Monday in Minneapolis, was pushed back to Tuesday and moved.

Butler is entering the fourth season of a five-year, $92.3 million contract he signed with Chicago in 2015, but he can enter the free agent market next summer by opting out of the final year.

YouTube Gaming App is Shut Down, Features Reintegrated into Main Website
Once it's shut down for good, you'll need to head to this new gaming portal on the main YouTube site in order to browse content. But the most important reason behind the decision to retire this app is YouTube's desire to minimize user confusion.

The Athletic first reported Butler's trade request.

One player who definitely fits that category is Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jimmy Butler, who wants out of his current situation with the Timberwolves. If reports are true that Jimmy is looking ahead to the summer of 2019 to choose what team will get his services, it would be in the Wolves best interest to trade their superstar now. Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic adds that Thibodeau has been resistant on the idea of dealing Butler. Butler has been frustrated at times with both Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, the No. 1 picks in the 2014 and 2015 drafts, respectively.

He helped lead the Timberwolves to the NBA Playoffs past year for the first time in 13 seasons, despite missing significant time with a torn meniscus.

Butler is downplaying his fractured relationship with Towns as a reason for wanting a trade, league sources said.
