'Inbred Tanning Bed,' Says Gary Cohn About Trump's IQ Level

  • Then-White House Economic Council Director Gary Cohn and then White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter are

Woodward, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, said the book is based on first-hand reporting and anonymous White House sources, including some who were extremely reluctant to disclose information, or even speak with him. The New York Times' reviewer wrote: "We knew things were bad".

Before he left, though, he had an oversized role in the White House, with Trump at one point telling Porter that he should report to him directly and not to then-Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

President Donald Trump blasted "liar" journalist Bob Woodward Monday after the Washington Post associate editor was "caught cold" in an awkward interview with NBC's Savannah Guthrie, who pressed him on his frequent use of anonymous sources criticizing the chief executive. The meeting was held a couple of weeks after PM Modi had met Donald Trump after he became US President. "The soldiers had told him that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation staff were totally dysfunctional", the book says. There had been rumors for some time that certain people wanted the USA president to follow in Richard Nixon's footsteps and step down, and Vice President Mike Pence to take over.

Mr Mattis, Mr Kelly and other aides have vehemently denied make the disparaging statements attributed to them in the book. Mattis was not "focused on anything other" than continuing to serve with the men and women of the military, Manning said. But Trump backed down once the initial news reports, which said the subpoenas were aimed at Trump's and his family's dealings with the bank, were inaccurate.

"I am proud of my service in the Trump Administration, and I continue to support the President and his economic agenda", he said.

Sen. Bennet on why he’ll vote no on Kavanaugh
Collins, a pro-abortion rights Republican, is considered to be a vital swing-vote for Kavanaugh's nomination along with Sen. Judge Brett Kavanaugh's critics claimed he committed perjury during his Senate hearings last week.

The book also quotes Mattis, after a contentious National Security Council meeting on January 19, as saying Trump acted like and had the understanding of "a fifth or sixth-grader". According to Woodward, Trump made this comment during a Situation Room meeting in the White House on July 19 a year ago, almost three weeks after he had a very successful meeting with Modi at the White House on June 26.

Woodward then steers the conversation to the middle passages, which deal with Trump and his approach to National Security.

"Thank God the tweet did not go out", said Woodward, who described it as another example of Trump's "back-of-the-envelope policymaking" that eventually led to Kelly sending out a memo affirming these "fly-by-night" decisions would no longer be considered final, instead requiring formal documents signed by the president. He's gone off the rails.

But the apparent denials by two of the president's former aides, Gary Cohn and Rob Porter, are actually more damning of the president than they are exculpatory. But what really seemed to help sales are the early leaks from the book and the resulting condemnations from President Trump.

Last July, The Times reported that U.S. banking regulators were reviewing the hundreds of millions of dollars in loans Deutsche Bank made to Trump over the past two decades.
