The Rush: Aaron Rodgers earns his paycheck on one leg

  • Aaron Rodgers carted off with injury just two quarters into Packers' season opener

Mack finished the game with three total tackles - two solo - the sack and fumble recovery. A field goal did them very little good there - it just made it so that a Packers field goal would tie them.

Down 10-0 when Rodgers hobbled off the field in the second quarter after Chicago Bears defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris fell on his left knee, and down 20-0 when he returned to start the second half, the Packers saw their fortunes turn when Lambeau public address announcer Bill Jartz exclaimed: "Aaron Rodgers at quarterback". Khalil Mack and the Bears defense dominated the first half, with new acquisition Mack scoring a TD on a pick-six a drive after stealing the ball from backup QB DeShone Kizer like taking candy from a baby.

"It" was more of the same from Rodgers against the Bears.

Cobb, Adams and Allison did all the heavy lifting.

However, Rodgers' knee turned out to not be a severe injury, and after the Bears orchestrated a field goal drive to go up 20-0 to open the second half, out trotted Rodgers to lead the Packers offense.

But as Packers fans feared the worst, Rodgers made a surprising return to the field in the second half.

Allison completed a terrific reception on Rodgers' first touchdown pass, hauling in the flawless throw in the corner of the end zone with Kyle Fuller trailing in coverage.

Aaron Rodgers heard the applause after walking out of the stadium tunnel and back on to the field. It took a super-hero performance from Rodgers, an underrated effort from the defense and big-time production from the top three receivers to get it done Sunday night at Lambeau Field.

Schools close on Big Island as hurricane approaches Hawaii
Earlier this month, Hurricane Hector followed a similar path toward Hawaii but stayed south of the islands. Only four named storms - two hurricanes and two tropical storms - have made landfall in Hawaii since 1959.

It was Rodgers' first regular-season home game since September 28 against the Bears.

The Packers had never before overcome a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit in their 100-year history.

The Bears came into this game planning to have Mack limit his workload after missing the entire preseason in a holdout with the Raiders.

The Bears offense ground to a self-inflicted halt. "We'll do tests [Monday], and you'll get a better answer Wednesday when I talk".

"All I got to say is I got to catch it".

Trubisky made a valiant effort, going 23-of-35 passing for 171 yards.

"No, I'm planning on playing", Rodgers said.
