Woman with baby leads police on high-speed chase before crashing

Video from the Texas Department of Public safety showed a high-speed auto chase that ended in a crash with the female motorist running off while carrying a baby inside vehicle seat.

A just-released video of the June 15 pursuit shows where Rodriguez allegedly reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour while her baby was strapped in the back seat. The woman driving the SUV had her own child in the vehicle. The woman, later identified as 29-year-old Catilyn Rodriguez, hit speeds of over 100 miles per hour at some points in the high-speed pursuit. The woman then gets out of her SUV, grabs from the backseat a child carrier holding a baby and begins running from authorities. She lost control of the auto and crashed into another vehicle in front of her. The driver of that vehicle left the auto, taking a child from the backseat, before the police arrived.

The mum led police on a 100mph auto chase before she crashed her vehicle.

Police used a tire deflation device to disable the front tire of the Mercedes SUV, but the woman continued to flee, crossing into oncoming traffic at times.

Rodriguez then passes in front of a white SUV before opening the door and jumping into the passenger side with the baby on her lap.

Reports say the baby was taken into the care of social services and the woman was charged with evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance and endangering a child.
