Corbyn admitted to being present at the wreath-laying for "those killed in Paris in 1992", which includes to Atef Bseiso, who was involved in planning the Munich terror attack.

The Labour leader has been slammed by the Israeli Prime Minister after photos emerged of Mr Corbyn attending a Palestinian memorial ceremony.

Corbyn later responded, saying that Netanyahu's words were "false".

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday slammed the head of the UK Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn, after recent revelations that he had attended a ceremony to honor the terrorists behind the 1972 Munich Olympic massacre and had compared Israeli military rule in the West Bank to the Nazi occupation of European countries during World War II.

The Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, has argued that Mr Corbyn should quit over the episode, while two widows of the murdered Israeli athletes said they were "extremely disturbed" by claims about the visit.

He added: "What deserves condemnation is the killing of over 160 Palestinian protesters in Gaza by Israeli forces since March, including dozens of children".

"Jeremy Corbyn's appalling actions, and Labour's attempted cover up, is another truly shameful day for the party he leads".

The Black September group is believed to be behind a deadly terrorist attack that targeted Israeli athletes during the 1972 Olympics in Germany which left 11 dead.

'You can not pursue peace by a cycle of violence.

He needs now to listen to those who want Labour to be seen to fully embrace the Jewish community and not turn on those, like Mr Austin, who are warning of the consequences of not acting to stem anti-semitism within the party. "When I attend a memorial, my presence alone, whether I lay a wreath or not, demonstrates my association and support", she said.

Jewish Labour MP Luciana Berger said: "Being "present" is the same as being involved". There can also never be a fitting memorial' for terrorists.

Netanyahu's comments came after Corbyn appeared to acknowledge that he was at the event for the wreath-laying ceremony.

In a tweet, Labour said he and other Parliamentarians had been honouring victims of the 1985 Israeli bombings. The later, however, is in a different part of the complex, and the Daily Mail noted Corbyn is pictured in front of a plaque that lies beside the graves of Black September members.

The controversy flared after pictures emerged three days ago of Mr Corbyn holding a wreath during a visit in 2014 to a Tunisian cemetery.

A spokesman for Mr Corbyn said: 'Jeremy did not lay any wreath at the graves of those alleged to have been linked to the Black September organisation or the 1972 Munich killings.

Mr Netanyahu dispensed with usual diplomatic convention by adding his voice to the criticism of the Labour leader's.

Corbyn was opposed to Labour adopting a definition of antisemitism which would make comparing current Israeli policy to that of Nazi Germany 'antisemitic.' The party's current stance on antisemitism includes the following statement: "Discourse about worldwide politics often employs metaphors drawn from examples of historic misconduct".

Corbyn is under fire for his presence at an event which included the honouring of a Palestinian suspected of involvement in the Munich Olympics massacre.
