Maurizio Sarri already has some 'regrets' over Chelsea's transfer window

Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, signed on Thursday in a record transfer ahead of the deadline, was rarely challenged and did not make his first save until the 20th minute.

Chelsea went ahead in the first half through a World Cup victor in N'Golo Kante, as he got on the end of a Willian cross and despite not quite connecting with the ball as he would have liked, he found the corner of the net. That is not a surprise, perhaps, but it doesn't bode well for his chances of much playing time with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cesc Fabregas and Mateo Kovacic to come in.

But, given all he's said since moving to Stamford Bridge, Sarri is purely concerned with coaching and is looking to stamp an identity on his new squad as quickly as possible - and not necessarily the one from his last job. "I think if we play Chelsea at home most people would expect us to concede a defeat, which we've got, and at the end it was a deserved defeat".

Despite dominating possession, Sarri's side looked uneasy early on and managed only two shots in the whole of the first half.

"I want to do a good Chelsea".

"I think that Eden in this moment can not play for 90 minutes, he needs to have training", Sarri said of the Belgium star.

It seems going 45 minutes without a cig is hard for the Italian, so it looks like Chelsea Football Club will give the manager his very own smoking area at Stamford Bridge, according to The Mirror.

Pique and Sergi Roberto named as new Barcelona captains
Legitimising Barca's claim to nurturing talent over heavy expenditure, all four players are graduates of the famed La Masia . Barcelona have confirmed that Lionel Messi will replace Andres Iniesta as the club's captain for the new season.

Sarri's half-time talk proves effective: There was some cause for concern after Chelsea's first-half performance. I felt the energy in the stadium and we were unlucky in the first half.

Huddersfield struggled to test the Kepa his first outing since joining from Athletic Bilbao for £72m as Chelsea dominated the second period, with Pedro adding the gloss after a brilliant counter-attack launched by substitute Eden Hazard.

Huddersfield were a persistent threat from crosses into the box and they went close to an equaliser when Steve Mounie headed Mathias Jorgensen's flick-on against the inside of the upright. Jorginho coolly converted the penalty.

"And I think the good thing about it, you look at Man City and you look at Liverpool. We really wanted to get something out of this game".

"We are not a physical team and I think the best of the game is the capacity of suffering for 15 minutes".

"I don't know, he has always kicked the penalty like this", Sarri shrugged.
