Emery in spotlight as Arsenal begin life without Wenger

It's an incredibly hard start for Unai Emery as the Gunners new chapter starts against a team tipped for more superiority after their exploits last season.

Unlike Arsenal, Guardiola's team are a force all over the pitch.

Their opponents for Sunday, Manchester City, splurged only on Riyad Mahrez - an able option to back-up the tactically intelligent, yet much-maligned Raheem Sterling but Pep Guardiola already has a system in place with nearly the entirety of his squad well-versed in his preferred style of play.

"Or Manchester United. People don't know how good they will be this season, but I know the manager a little bit and I know in that situation how good they will handle it".

A cynic might suggest Emery's feat of winning the Europa League three years in a row with Sevilla was the most relevant achievement on his CV prior to his appointment at Arsenal - who will compete in Europe's second-tier competition for a second successive season.

City impressed in last weekend's 2-0 Community Shield victory against Chelsea and could welcome back Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling from that group after they were given extra time off following Russian Federation.

Pep Guardiola claims Manchester City's best may not be good enough in the coming season. "He has had a lot of success with teams that probably weren't the best technically or didn't have the best players, but they fought till the end and he's showing that to every single player and that's the way he wants us to be involved".

8 interesting facts you should know before the partial solar eclipse
Partial solar eclipses can be very risky to look at with the naked, eye, accordion to the American Astrological Society (AAS). And flanking that lunar eclipse (two weeks before, and now two weeks after) are two partial eclipses of the sun.

"Raheem and Kevin had three weeks off after the World Cup, which is not too much time (for pre-season) but they both arrived in the ideal way".

City have great depth, though, and the Gunners could be in for a hard afternoon as they try to welcome their new era in with a win on Sunday.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is back in training after suffering a calf problem, but left-back Nacho Monreal is doubtful with a knee issue.

In defence, Benjamin Mendy with his bombarding runs and decent defensive skills looks certain to start in the left back position.

The club's official website has confirmed a couple of long-term injuries with Sead Kolasinac out for 6-8 weeks and Laurent Koscielny due to return at the end of the year.

Kevin De Bruyne missed out on the clash against Chelsea, but he is fully expected to start against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

If City do win the title yet again, they will be the first English side to defend the league title since 2009, when their cross-city rivals won the title back-to-back under Sir Alex Ferguson.

He'll be among the players Arsenal will have to keep a close eye on if they're to stand any chance of getting a result.
