  • Chris Pratt Walk of Fame Star

Another reason for her exit was that she had bagged Cowboy Ninja Viking, a Hollywood film, opposite Chris Pratt. The film was initially set to be released on June 28, 2019, but Universal reportedly wasn't eager to rush to meet a release date. Universal said that the movie will get another release date at a later time to solve the production scheduling issue.

Sources tell Variety that the film is still in active development with Pratt, Priyanka Chopra, and director Michelle MacLaren remaining on board. As for Chopra, her future with the film remains unclear. Cowboy Ninja Viking's story centres around a lethal agent, played by Pratt, whose treatment by a psychotherapist leaves him with "an ability to manifest the deadliest attributes of the three titular personas". The movie will be action heavy, while still aiming for a PG-13 rating. The hard-edged actioner laced with attitude is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by AJ Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo. She is also developing The Nightingale, a WWII thriller that is set up over at Tr-Star. Craig Mazin (The Huntsman: Winter's War) penned an earlier draft, updating an original take by Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Together they wrote in Gunn's defense, though the likelihood of Disney going back on its decision remains low.

It looks like Cowboy Ninja Viking might not have the best luck getting to the big screen.

Cowboy Ninja Viking may still get underway before the end of the year, but it's unlikely that we'll the movie anytime next year. But turns out that will have to wait because the movie has been delayed indefinitely. This news comes from Universal Pictures.
