  • Fulham agree loan deal for Arsenal defender Calum Chambers?

Calum Chambers said he was "really excited" to join Fulham after arriving on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal.

Chambers has recently penned a new contract at the Emirates Stadium, and there had been every indication that the 23-year-old would have a role to play in Unai Emery's plans for this season.

If personal terms between Chambers and Fulham can be agreed, the player could undergo a medical later on Monday.

Fulham, who beat Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final last season, look set to deal with life in the top flight.

Chambers, who can also play at right-back, will add further depth to Slavisa Jokanovic's defence after the additions of Alfie Mawson and Maxime Le Marchand earlier in the summer. I really like the way they play football.

'Everyone can see that Fulham's a club that likes to play football, play football from the back, through the lines.

It is reported that a deal has been reached between Arsenal and Fulham for the England U21 ace to sign permanently, most likely at the end of this season.

But with Laurent Koscielny, new signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Shkodran Mustafi and youngster Dinos Mavropanos all providing healthy competition, the former Southampton player has had to make the short trip to Fulham in search of regular playing time.
