Storms ahead of the cold front late Monday will start out strongest to the northwest, but will weaken as they drop south into our area.

Tonight: Showers and storms seem likely during the evening into the overnight, and again any heavier storms could produce some flooding.

Pockets of heavy rain and some thunderstorms will be seen into the early afternoon hours primarily for communities along and south of I-96.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville is anticipating storms to develop in MS and western Tennessee and push into north Alabama by mid- to late afternoon or evening. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s all week. Tuesday and Wednesday will see high temperatures in the 80s and low 90s.

And on Saturday, expect partly sunny skies and a high of 78 with a continuing 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
