Square Enix’s E3 showcase was a bust

The real magic is with the Square Enix store exclusive "Bring Arts" edition. But the livestream did include a reveal for a brand new PlatinumGames title called Babylon's Fall. However, when it was all said and done, Square Enix had very little to offer.

Either way, this one has a low-key, gritty visual aesthetic compared to other Square Enix games, so it should be interesting to follow moving forward. From the debut trailer, it seems like cutscenes will be in live-action, but the gameplay will look like a standard game. The finished game will launch for PC and PS4 in 2019. This was an early glimpse, with more information coming in August 2018.

Why the two new games are skipping the Xbox One is a mystery, especially as they're new IP, but since the excellent NieR: Automata (also a Platinum game) will be arriving on Microsoft's console on June 26 maybe it's more a question of when and not if.

We're probably going to see even more of Kingdom Hearts III, considering that the trailer that was showcased at the Orchestra Concert (featuring Ratatouille and Tangled) hasn't been publicly revealed yet.

Seeing this kid live in his own bubble and only have his comics to pass the time should be familiar to a lot of us. Developer Dontnod promises many secrets in this self-contained experience, enough to warrant several playthroughs.

The video talks us through the new additions to Just Cause 4, the most prominent of these being the extreme weather system. Could there be more about Final Fantasy XV?

Just Cause 4 will release on December 4 2018.
