The list of "Video Games That May Never Actually Release" has just lost one of its most prominent members.

Square Enix first announced Kingdom Hearts III in 2013.

With a release date finally announced, are you excited for Kingdom Hearts III?

Kingdom Hearts III is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 25, 2019 in Japan and Asia, and January 29 in North America and Europe. Kingdom Hearts II came out in 2006. At the same time, Square Enix will also unveiled a number of new trailers for the game at E3 2018 later this week. Further gameplay details remain scarce roughly six months out from the game's official release, but stay tuned to Engadget for more information as soon as it becomes available.
