President Xi Jinping on Friday awarded China's first friendship medal to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin as the two leaders firmed up their alliance amid mounting USA diplomatic and economic pressure on them.

"I believe it's necessary to stop this creative babbling and shift to concrete issues related to real cooperation", Putin told reporters on a visit to China, when asked to comment on a G7 joint statement.

Russian Federation was booted from the then-G8 in 2014 over its annexation of Crimea, which world leaders condemned as "illegal".

Trump riled USA allies on Friday when he suggested Russian Federation be readmitted to the G7 organization, despite the country's 2014 expulsion because it annexed Crimea from Ukraine.

On Twitter, he said: "The American President may not mind being isolated, but neither do we mind signing a 6 country agreement if need be".

Earlier this month Israeli officials denied claims by Russia's ambassador to the United Nations that it has reached an agreement with Moscow on the withdrawal of Iranian forces from southwest Syria. Iranian state television broadcast an interview with Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran's nuclear agency, live from the Natanz uranium enrichment plant with three domestically built centrifuges clearly labeled in English in the background. He says he agrees with that, adding that a thorough discussion is needed to address the issue.

Other leaders attending this weekend's G7 summit rejected Trump's idea.

Google CEO: Our AI won’t be used for harm
Google said Thursday that it would not let its artificial intelligence (A.I.) tools be used for deadly weapons or surveillance. In March, news leaked that Google had quietly supplied AI technology to the Pentagon to help analyze drone video footage.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, whose country is an observer member of the SCO, will also attend the summit at a time when China and Russian Federation are seeking to save the Iran nuclear deal following Trump's withdrawal from the pact.

Speaking during a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao on Sunday, Putin emphasized that the bloc members are anxious about the US move.

Xi said China's "highest honour" is bestowed on foreigners who have made "outstanding contributions" to the country's modernisation drive and helped maintain world peace.

Mongolia stands ready to work with China and Russia to implement trilateral cooperation consensus and launch the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor construction as early as possible, while promoting cooperation in sectors such as infrastructure and energy transportation, said Battulga. Xi noted that the importance of trade between the two countries is significant beyond its sheer volume due to the strategically important goods exchanged between China and Russian Federation including energy supplies, energy extraction hardware, new environmentally friendly technology, space exploration technology, aviation equipment, terrestrial transport technology and other heavy machinery.

"The relationship between Russian Federation and China is a friendly, neighbourly one, developing... in the spirit of overarching strategic partnership", he said.

Trump's deteriorating relationships with Trudeau and Macron - both of whom he has previously lavished with praise - come as the USA finds itself increasingly isolated from key allies over Trump's isolationist policies, including his decisions to pull out of the Paris climate agreement and to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.
