Stunning Meghan Markle looks elegant for Trooping the Colour Sat, June 9, 2018 Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex arrives in style to celebrate the Queen's birthday at Trooping for Colour.

The Queen, who turned 92 in April, actually has two birthday celebrations each year, with one held on her actual birthday and the other typically held on the second Saturday in June (a tradition introduced by King George II in 1748, whose birthday fell in November but felt the weather in June would better lend itself to an outdoor celebration).

It's part of a strategic plan to formally introduce Meghan as an integral member of the royal family.

Meghan is wearing a Carolina Herrera dress, a Philip Treacy hat, and Birks rings. Charlotte matched with the Duchess in a pretty blue frock, while George wore the sweet Daniel shirt by British childrenswear brand Amaia, which also features blue detailing in its piping.

"She also wore some new pieces from Birks-obviously now looking to be Meghan's jeweler of choice-which were a nice nod to her Canadian "roots" (whilst not being Canadian) while also still including more diamonds as befitting her new status". Her husband, Prince Philip, has retired from royal duties and did not attend.

While Meghan has blossomed into the epitome of royal sophistication already, Prince Harry in his black uniform looked like a knight in shining armour.

'Sons of Anarchy' actor Alan O'Neill dies at 47
The Irish-born actor had featured in hit series Sons of Anarchy , as well as drama Fair City from 2006 to 2012. An autopsy is due to be carried out but his death is not being treated as suspicious, according to TMZ .

Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, did not attend the event, having retired from public life previous year. Last week, it was Camilla's turn, at the 10th anniversary of the Medical Detection Dogs charity, of which Camilla is its patron.

The three-year-old was comforted by Duchess Kate, 36, who offered some reassuring words and patted her back.

What is different about the Cheshire trip is the timing.

The queen has a busy schedule coming up this summer.

"Both of us have passions for wanting to make change, change for good, and, you know, with lots of young people running around the commonwealth, that's where we'll spend most of our time hopefully", Harry said shortly after the couple's engagement was announced in November. Then comes the Order of the Garter ceremony at St. George's Chapel, where Meghan and Harry were married, as well as days of racing at Royal Ascot, as well as Wimbledon and the Queen's annual Scottish tour. They are expected to travel to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.
