'Sons of Anarchy' actor Alan O'Neill dies at 47

A report from "TMZ" suggests that O'Neill, who played a recurring role in "Sons of Anarchy's" last two seasons, was found dead by his girlfriend on Wednesday night.

The Irish-born actor had featured in hit series Sons of Anarchy, as well as drama Fair City from 2006 to 2012.

O'Neill reportedly had a history of heart problems and battled drug and alcohol addiction, but a cause of death has yet to be determined.

An autopsy is due to be carried out but his death is not being treated as suspicious, according to TMZ.

Seamus Power tweeted: "So sad to hear of the passing of Alan O'Neill who played "Keith" in Fair City". He starred in seven episodes on "Sons of Anarchy" spanning from 2013 to 2014. Alan O'Neill battled many demons in his life.

Alan O'Neill has passed away aged 47, his agent has confirmed.

Irish actress Jenny Dixon paid a touching tribute to O'Neill on Twitter.

Alongside a montage of pictures, she wrote: "One of the first films I did and a privilege to act across from @AlanONeill19". "My thoughts are with his partner, children, family and friends at this time".
