Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo set up one goal and had another disallowed against Algeria on Friday.

The 33-year-old hinted after Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League final that this could be his final season in the Spanish capital. He also had one disallowed for offside before being substituted in the 75th minute on Thursday (Friday NZ time).

Portugal made a lively start and Cristiano Ronaldo, playing in his first match since the Champions League final on May 26, had a goal disallowed after he was caught fractionally offside.

Guedes's brace sandwiched a first worldwide goal for Bruno Fernandes, the 23-year-old heading in a superb Ronaldo cross amid driving rain in the 37th minute.

Outside of Ronaldo, Portugal boast an exciting squad filled with attacking talent including Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Guedes, AC Milan's Andre Silva and Sporting Lisbon's Gelson Martins.

"We played well, but there's still a lot to improve, " Portugal coach Fernando Santos said.

Instagram might soon let you post videos up to an hour long
It also highlighted that talk about enabling long-form video comes two years after Instagram Stories launched on the platform. During a 2016 interview with BuzzFeed News , Zuckerberg indicates how "we're entering this new golden age of video".

Portugal enters this match after a 2-2 draw against Tunisia on May 28th and a 0-0 draw against Belgium on June 2.

Santos will take 13 players to Russian Federation who helped the team win its first major title at the European Championship two years ago in France.

The European champions also face Iran and Morocco in their first-round group while Algeria, who reached the round of 16 in 2014, failed to qualify for Russian Federation.

Fernando Santos' side are the defending European champions and have been drawn into Group B in Russian Federation, alongside Spain, Morocco and Iran.

Neymar has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, while Ronaldo's future is up in the air.

Ronaldo will be looking to add to his 149 global caps for Portugal having scored 81 times for his country, though only three times at World Cups.
