The company has tried to distinguish itself from its peers on the privacy issue by stressing that it collects less information about its users than companies like Google and Facebook, so a little light bragging could be expected.

With iOS 12, Apple revealed that it was focusing on stability and performance along with new features like Screen Time, improved Augmented Reality, Shortcuts on Siri and more. The new "Digital Health" features will appear in iOS 12 settings, according to a recent Bloomberg report. Since Steam Link is a multiplatform app, though, it's allowed to offer purchases outside of Apple's control, so long as they're made on the host PC.

"Some apps send us flurries of notifications trying to draw us in for fear of missing out", said Apple's senior vice-president of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, speaking to a 6,000-strong audience at WWDC, Apple's annual developer conference, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose on Monday.

The iPhone X's Animoji feature gained a few new characters, but all of the attention is on a new feature called Memoji. They were there to hear about new features and products. But there's one big difference: Apple insists that everything is happening only on your own phone, so it doesn't collect or store any data from the process. It should be about new hardware, not software.

The absence of any hardware announcements means there will now likely be an absolute ton of them in September.
