  • Instagram Looking to Add Long-Form Video (Report)

The photo and video sharing app reportedly met with content providers and publishers interested in producing such videos for Instagram.

At the moment, Instagram, like Snapchat, has hard limits on how long any given video clip can run.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Instagram might just start letting users post videos that are up to an hour long.

Instagram already uses the vertical format for Stories and the sources say the firm has already engaged content creators to make video promoting the app's new feature if the tentative plans are retained.

Kim Kardashian has 112 million followers on Instagram.

It also highlighted that talk about enabling long-form video comes two years after Instagram Stories launched on the platform.

The functionality will focus on vertical videos (those that have more height than their width).

Adding long-form video could help Facebook to further monetize Instagram's sizable audience. During a 2016 interview with BuzzFeed News, Zuckerberg indicates how "we're entering this new golden age of video".
