Yesterday, it was revealed that the next Assassin's Creed game would be called Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Following a lackluster response to Assassin's Creed Syndicate in 2015, publisher Ubisoft announced that it would take a year off of the core series for the first time in a decade to regroup.

The clip shows what seems to be a Spartan-looking character kicking another solider off a cliff; an homage to Frank Miller's 300. And yes, from the looks of it, the game will take place in ancient Greece.

Tom Arnold Claims Ex Roseanne Barr 'Wanted' Her Show Canceled
Roseanne Barr shows no signs she will remain quiet about her firing from her popular ABC series and has highlighted supporters' tweets criticizing the network.

Odyssey is an apt title for a Greek adventure, and it suggests - at least a little - that we might be in for more of the beloved ship combat featured in Black Flag.

Odyssey was first leaked last night via some promotional merchandise that found its way online. Backing up the report is Kotaku's own Jason Schreier, who has been responsible for much of the leaked information (much of which has been accurate). Could Ubi be lining up a big Assassin's Creed Odyssey reveal for E3 this June? Bayek and Aya, the heroes of Origins, aren't expected to return. With The Division 2 taking up space in March, it would be safe to assume that Odyssey is targeting a fall 2018 launch, which would put Ubisoft right back on track with their yearly releases for the series.

Since Origins has had full support and post-game content, with the latest DLC Curse of the Pharaohs bringing that to an end, it would make sense that Ubisoft is moving forward with the next installment in the franchise.
