Reuben Foster's Ex-Girlfriend: Domestic Violence Claim 'A Money Scheme'

  • Reuben Foster's Domestic Violence Accuser Comes Clean:

Elissa Ennis, the ex-girlfriend of Foster, testified that the initial accusations against the 49ers linebacker, which were the basis of the Santa Clara DA's potential case against the National Football League star, were all lies.

The ex-girlfriend of Reuben Foster, the San Francisco 49ers linebacker out of Alabama who was arrested on domestic violence charges earlier this year, testified Thursday that she lied about the allegations.

Foster's ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis, 28, initially told Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police and Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies on the morning of February 11 that Foster had beat her, dragged her out of the house by her hair and thrown her down the steps of their home on Shannon Road. According to Inman, Ennis testified that she falsely accused an ex-boyfriend of domestic assault in 2011.

"I was threatening Reuben, that I was going to f*** up his career", Ennis said.

She also said she had done this before.

Then on Thursday at a courthouse in San Jose, Ennis did as expected and promised at a dramatic preliminary hearing, telling the court that her initial story about Foster beating her up was a lie to get back at him for breaking up with her.

Ennis admitted to getting into a road rage fight in San Francisco where she fought one or two women for 15 minutes on the side of a street.

According to Ennis, she sustained her injuries in a fight that took place in San Francisco on the night of February 10.

Ennis said she even threatened Foster after he broke off the relationship. Those accusations claimed that Foster dragged her down the stairs, punched her eight to 10 times, threw her outside of the house, and spit on her. During her testimony, Ennis admitted that she took Foster's money and some jewelry that had been stored in a safety deposit box.

Clark does not believe that the district attorney's office will press charges against Ennis for lying, nor does he believe Foster will press charges against Ennis for the theft.

She never spoke to 49ers.

Ennis went to the edge of the driveway to flag down a construction worker passing by in his truck, Eugenio Pirir, who allowed her to use his cellphone, telling him that Foster broke hers, before later saying he hadn't during her testimony.

Wiens, who testified after Ennis, said he had doubts about that fight taking place and did not follow up with authorities in San Francisco because he did not have a location or further information to go on. The injuries were initially pinned on Foster.

"I really wanted to kill him", she added.

Also damaging to the prosecution's case was a video reportedly showing where Ennis' injuries originated from.

The judge could dismiss any or all of the charges against Foster or have any or all of the charges advanced to a jury trial within 60 days.
