US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Tuesday defended Israel's use of force against Palestinian demonstrators in Gaza and walked out of a UN Security Council session as Palestine's envoy, Riyad Mansour, began to speak.

South Africa's Julius Malema has condemned African countries for attending the opening of the United States embassy in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had tallied similar numbers to Hamas', and "won't let those who call for our destruction to breach our borders and to threaten our communities". Turkey and Israel expelled each other's ambassadors. It also triggered a diplomatic backlash against Israel.

On Wednesday, the crisis between the two states appeared to be deepening.

"The Israeli ambassador could have paid and passed through the VIP [line]".

Na'eh was asked to leave Turkey for an indefinite period of time following indiscriminate violence and killings of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers along the Gaza border.

Another Hamas official did not confirm the number, but said those participating were demonstrating peacefully.

Commenting on Israel's recent missile strikes on Syria and escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip, Turkish political analyst Yasin Atlioglu told Sputnik that there is no legal justification for Tel Aviv's steps.

As top US officials including Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, attended the embassy's opening ceremony and President Trump addressed those gathered in a video message, Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters clashed in rioting that left dozens dead and several hundred more wounded. He said that the world will face severe consequences if it does not stop Israel's brutality.

Hamas appealed to the world, claiming Israeli forces killed 62 Palestinians.

Still, it is not yet known if she was the victim killed, as the coroner has not yet formally released the deceased woman's name. The neighbor says Krajnyak was her mother's caretaker and describes the husband as a massage therapist and nice man.

The ministry "sees this participation as a grave breach of global law and United Nations resolutions which confirm that Jerusalem has been occupied since 1967 and ban countries from moving their embassies there", the statement said.

Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called for three days of mourning and a general strike.

Furious with four European countries that sent envoys to a Foreign Ministry-hosted reception earlier in the week to celebrate the new American embassy in Jerusalem, the Palestinian Authority (PA) recalled its ambassadors Wednesday for "consultations".

The status of Jerusalem is one of the thorniest obstacles to forging a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians, who with broad global backing want East Jerusalem, captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war, as their capital.

The Palestinians, who seek east Jerusalem as capital of their hoped-for state, vehemently oppose the U.S. Embassy's relocation from Tel Aviv, seeing it as a one-sided move that invalidates the U.S.as a Mideast peace broker. Though many U.S. presidential candidates have promised to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, Trump was the first to follow through.

Traditionally, May 15th is the day Palestinians mark the "Nakba" or "Catastrophe".

Prior to 1980, Guatemala and a dozen other countries maintained embassies in Jerusalem.

"I look forward to assessing with you the practical ways. that we can advance this friendship and this alliance", Netanyahu said.

Some countries, including USA allies France and Britain, called for restraint on Israel's part to curb the bloodshed. The State Department said Tuesday the draft "was too one-sided" and unacceptable to the US because it did not mention Hamas' incitement of violence along the Gaza border.

The conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, he added, was a separate, internal issue.
