Children at a day care across the street from the building were evacuated.

Irene White, a family friend, read a statement Wednesday on behalf of Krajnyak's family.

Still, it is not yet known if she was the victim killed, as the coroner has not yet formally released the deceased woman's name.

White also solicited donations to an online fundraising campaign to bring Krajnyak's son home from college and help pay for a funeral.

WATCH: Leo Stallworth reports from Long Beach, where a search warrant was served at a home in connection with Aliso Viejo investigation FBI agents were seen removing boxes believed to contain evidence from a home along Drover Court in Trabcuo Canyon Wednesday morning.

The explosion, in a normally tranquil South Orange County city, prompted the evacuation of nearby businesses and a school filled with children, officials said.

Evidence shows the materials believed to involved in the explosion were not consistent with items used at a day spa, Orange County Undersheriff Don Barnes said.

"The corner of that building, the whole bottom floor is pretty much blown out", said Orange County Fire Authority Capt.

Krajnyak, 48, was originally from Hungary and had just visited there, according to her Facebook page and a neighbor. The neighbor says Krajnyak was her mother's caretaker and describes the husband as a massage therapist and nice man.

Senate to vote on repealing net neutrality rule changes
The FCC also repealed the regulatory underpinning for the rules, in which internet service was classified as a common carrier. The agency past year eliminated Obama-era rules forbidding internet service providers from blocking or slow web traffic.

The sheriff's department has stressed that the investigation remains at an early stage.

"We do not believe at this time that this was an accident", a representative for the sheriff's office said at a press conference. Authorities said they remained hospitalized and were in surgery Wednesday but were expected to survive.

There was much confusion about the cause of the explosion in its immediate aftermath, with fire officials at first saying it happened after a vehicle crashed into the structure.

The officials were briefed on the investigation but not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.

Authorities said they are analyzing surveillance video.

No arrests have been made, nor have officials identified a suspect or suspects.

Officials said the incident appears to have been an "intentional detonation" and the device may have been delivered as a package to a specific person, reported NBC4.

A deputy keeps watch as the Orange County hazmat team and bomb squad investigate the scene of an explosion in Aliso Viejo on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Authorities are treating the explosion as a crime, but are still working to confirm if the blast was intentional.

"We have not found any type of specific device inside of the building right now that would tell us or lead us to exactly what the device was - if there was a device", Sawyer said.

The victim, who was confirmed dead on the scene, has not yet been named.
