  • Nawaz Sharif Says Pakistani Establishment Delaying 26/11 Trial

In order to contain the damage, the Pakistani military has asked Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to discuss the way forward, said the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani armed forces.

"(The) NSC meeting suggested to (the) prime minister to discuss recent misleading media statement regarding Bombay (Mumbai) incident.

Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday took an exception to ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif's remarks about Mumbai attacks which he made in an interview with a leading English daily. He indicated that his country should look into why its narrative that it had been fighting terrorism had not been accepted by the worldwide community "despite sacrifices". Afghanistan's narrative is being accepted, but ours is not. "We would not allow Pakistan's honour to be hampered", added the leader of the opposition in the Pakistani Senate.

India had replied that since the conspiracy of the attack took place on Pakistani soil, it was the responsibility of the Pakistani government to gather all evidence and present it before the trial court.

"Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill over 150 people in Mumbai?"

"Militant organisations are active".

The Panama Papers investigation, which led to Sharif's resignation after the Supreme Court disqualified him from holding public office, had revealed that three out of four offshore companies set up by his children in the British Virgin Islands owned at least six upscale properties overlooking London's Hyde Park.

Nabil Fekir's move to Liverpool edges closer
Liverpool have entered the race to sign Brazilian star Malcom from Bordeaux, according to reports. Fekir could also compliment Klopp's preference to have Liverpool play with a high press.

Pakistan continues to await cooperation from India regarding the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav and the Samjhota Express attack, the statement said.

The petition, filed by political party Pakistan Awaami Tehreek's (PAT) Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, stated that Sharif's statement was against national security and state institutions. Nawaz noted in the interview in a reference to the Mumbai attacks-related trials which have stalled in a Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court.

The Mumbai attack case has entered into the 10th year but none of its suspects in Pakistan has been punished yet, showing that the case had never been a priority for Islamabad that appears to be keen to put it under the carpet.

On Saturday, former Pakistan PM had admitted that homegrown terrorist outfits were responsible for the 2008 attacks in Mumbai.

Shehbaz Sharif clarified, "The report "has incorrectly attributed certain remarks to PMLN Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which do not represent PMLN's party policy".

His remarks were immediately picked up by Indian media, which termed the former prime minister's statement as a confession of Pakistan's role in the Mumbai attacks that left 166 people dead. The Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) was believed to have plotted the 26/11 attacks.
