A deeply eurosceptic far-right party and an anti-establishment group are set to unveil a coalition government agreement and name a new Italian prime minister on Monday, ending over two months of political deadlock.

"We will need to renegotiate European Union agreements to stop Italy suffocating", League leader Matteo Salvini said on Saturday after a day of talks with his 5-Star counterpart Luigi Di Maio.

Lega leader Matteo Salvini and M5S leader Luigi Di Maio have both discussed the matter with President Sergio Mattarella, saying they were close to securing a deal on naming next prime minister.

It's a very bipartisan crowd and "not just a bunch of Republicans", the administration official confirmed. Truman recognized Israel, which is the reason the embassy transfer was scheduled for that date.

Scrapping the unpopular pension reform would cost €15bn, another €12.5bn is needed to head off the planned hike in sales tax, and the parties are also considering printing a new, special-purpose currency to pay off state debts to firms, reported Reuters. Mattarella is due to meet Di Maio at 4:30 pm local time and a delegation of the League at 6:00 pm.

Following a second day of negotiations with Salvini in Milan, Di Maio said the prime ministerial candidate will be "a politician and not a technician". Together they will be able to hold a majority in both houses.

On its own Salvini's League won 17 percent of the votes on March 4th, but it was part of a right-wing alliance including Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia party that garnered 37 percent of the vote.
