  • Boston Dynamics' dog-like SpotMini robots will go on sale in 2019

In addition to SpotMini, the company had unveiled Atlas, a humanoid robot that can do flips, pick up boxes and can now run.

At a robotics conference in California, the company's founder Marc Raibert announced that the slightly creepy SpotMini was now in pre-production and scheduled for large-scale production and general availability from middle of 2019. The company is going to work with its manufacturing partners to increase the production of the robot before it starts selling the SpotMini in 2019.

The SpotMini is said to be "quietest robot [Boston Dynamics] has built". Atlas, the name given to this particular robot, can be seen jogging through a park before jumping over a log easily in a new video.

Boston Dynamics was bought from Google's parent company, Alphabet, by Japanese firm SoftBank in August past year, but it looks as though developments are surging ahead.

Mr Mahathir's deputy in the new government is Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Anwar's wife and the leader of his People's Justice Party. Without it, he would be banned from political life for five years. "He should be released immediately when he is pardoned ".

Given a shout-out by Amazon chief Jeff Bezos early this year when he posted a picture of himself striding alongside a canine cyborg, SpotMini is small four-legged nimble robot that can handle objects, climb stairs and operate in an office setting.

It's unclear how much the robots will cost or who will be eligible to purchase them.

The first version SpotMini walked, skated, and even placed items in the dishwasher.

Founded in 1992, Boston Dynamics rarely reveals its plans except by posting YouTube videos that have impressed and terrified people. It also takes a tumble on a banana skin, suggesting at least one way we humans can defend ourselves against any upcoming robot rampage. Most of Boston Dynamics' robotics research had been applied in the military until Google bought the Waltham, Massachusetts, company in 2013.
